Outstanding Work and Exceptional People! We couldn’t be happier with the work The Surfing Carpenter did in our home at Latitude Margaritaville Watersound. Zach, the owner—and yes, a surfer—was a true professional from start to finish. He and Jonathan did an incredible job installing beautiful beams and shiplap on the ceiling of our living room. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail were outstanding, and the finished product completely transformed the room. But what really impressed us was that Zach and Jonathan aren’t just talented carpenters—they’re great guys. They were engaging, personable, professional and genuinely enjoyable to have working in our home. Once the carpentry was complete, they brought in Dario to do the painting. He was equally impressive. Dario meticulously painted the beams and shiplap, and his attention to detail really brought the entire project together. And here’s something you don’t always see with contractors: they kept our house incredibly clean throughout the entire project. They vacuumed and swept as they worked, and the worksite never became the usual messy, unsightly construction zone. That made a big difference to us. We give The Surfing Carpenter our highest possible recommendation. If you’re looking for quality work done right by people who are honest, professional, talented and take pride in what they do, these are your guys. Zach and his team did an outstanding job trimming out our home, including crown molding and door openings throughout, installing new cabinets, building a custom range hood, and modifying our kitchen island. His workers were true professionals from start to finish. They arrived on time, cleaned up the worksite at the end of each day, and—most importantly—they were magnificent craftsmen! They did truly beautiful work and transformed our house into a home!

When you work with Zach, you’re not just hiring a carpenter – you’re hiring a VIBE. He’s a bonafide craftsman. He’s got meticulous attention to detail and is a supremely talented carpenter. He’s got a deep bag of skills to go along with a high degree of creativity and a big portfolio of cool stuff he’s made. Zach is very knowledgeable about trimming and did a fantastic job recommending solutions to a flooring and trim challenges. Zach and his team were punctual, professional, and did the highest quality work that was better than expected. My husband and I were so impressed with Zach and his team that we will use them again. I would rate them 10 stars if google allowed!

I highly recommend the Surfing Carpenter. Zach was a problem solver and found a way to get the plywood that covers my windows during hurricanes off the garage floor, and the custom bookshelf he made turned out great. He was very professional and went above and beyond to be sure I was happy with everything he built.

Zach did a wonderful job on our great room ceiling with tongue and groove boards stained and beams that he also painted. He built mock ups of the ceiling beams and made multiple samples of stain colors for us to choose from. He also built floating shelves and a desk for our office. The wood caused trouble with the stain for the desk and he took the time to sand it all down and restained it to match another desk we have. It ended up exactly like we wanted. He also put in molding in our ceiling tray in our bedroom and painted it. Everything is stunning. He was meticulous about protecting the rooms and other furniture, and cleaned up daily. Communication with him was great with very knowledgeable ideas and discussions to get everything exactly how we wanted it. Very friendly and a really nice guy to work with. Thanks again for a fantastic job!

Zach and his team are the absolute best! They worked super hard and were meticulous in everything they did. We had them install extensive trim (shiplap, batten, wainscoting, etc.) and everything turned out amazing. We had a pretty tight timeline and they worked into the evenings and weekends to get it done. I honestly can’t say enough good things. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Zach and his crew did an outstanding job removing old DIY trim throughout entryways and sliding glass doors and updating them. Each crew member can answer any questions about the project. I had an emergency come up and I had to rush out. I trusted them working in our home with no supervision. Attention to detail and pride in their work. They also clean up and no dust or debris left behind. I will def hire them again.
